Subject matter expert on the NCHRP Domestic Scan Recent Experiences in Advancing and Deploying of Automated Vehicle Technologies, an AASHTO-sponsored peer exchange examining how thirteen states advanced automated vehicle technology. Delion supported the scan event with DOT leaders from across the country and authored the final report. The report compared state policies, from permissive to tightly regulated, along with agency organization and staffing, pilot projects and lessons learned, public engagement, emergency response coordination, and data governance. It recommended steps for both new and established state DOT programs, and called for national alignment on AV standards and regulations.
